Borough Council Members President: Doug Tusing Vice-President: Cecilia Houser Members: Jeffrey Ball, Theresa Jacoby, Dave Kuhar, Robert Miller, Michael Owatt Mayor: Randy Datsko Agenda Items Call to Order & Pledge of Allegiance Public Comments Members of the public are invited to comment on any item appearing on the agenda. 1. New Business A. Executive Sessions The Council held executive sessions on: June 23, 2023 (12:00 p. m. – 1:05 p. m. ) June 28, 2023 (4:30 p. m. – 7:35 p. m. ) July 5, 2023 (4:45 p. m. – 7:30 p. m. ) These sessions were for interviewing candidates for the vacant Chief of Police position. An additional executive session was held immediately before this meeting to review final candidate information. Recommended Action: Make it a matter of record that executive sessions were held on the above dates. B. Police Chief Vacancy Twelve applications were received for the Chief of Police position. Initial interviews were conducted with seven applicants, attended by the Borough Manager and various council members. The list was narrowed to the top three candidates, who were interviewed by the Borough Manager and full Council on July 5th. The interview process is now complete, and the Council is prepared to nominate a candidate and vote. Recommended Action: Entertain a motion to appoint a new Chief of Police and approve a conditional offer of employment. 2. Media Comments/Questions 3.
