Meeting Overview The Ebensburg Recreation Board held its monthly meeting on June 11, 2025, at the Ebensburg Borough Building. The meeting was called to order at 6:38 PM by Amber Mesoras and adjourned at 6:48 PM. Attendance: Present: Melanie Boland, Amber Mesoras, and Rebecca Williamson. Absent: Theresa Jacoby, Rory Coleman, Ashley Bobby, Samantha Kemock, Susan Kuhar, and Phil Woo. Facility Updates & Maintenance Pool The Board received updates on several completed repairs and renovations: Equipment: Repairs to the water/filtration pump, installation of CAT 5000 sensors, purchase and installation of a chlorine pump and new tubing, and installation of the kiddie slide. Renovations: Repair of the women’s bathroom ceiling, mold removal, painting, and cleaning/painting of exterior bathroom walls. Grounds: Picnic tables in the pavilions were painted, grounds were mulched, and flowers were planted. Tennis Center The Council approved a bid from Gittings to install a new fire alarm system. Mark from Gittings plans to evaluate the project within the next two weeks. YPCC (Youth and Public Community Center) Maintenance: Summer workers are tending to public bathrooms and mowing the dog park. Roof Repair: A request for bid for interior roof repair has been drawn up and will be presented to the council on June 23, 2025. New Business & Programs Basketball Initiatives Clinic: A youth K-2 basketball clinic is scheduled for August 4, 2025 (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) at the YPCC. This instructional camp is for children interested in playing basketball in the winter. Playgrounds: The Holy Name Playground basketball court has been painted with lines for play. Work continues on other playgrounds throughout town. Pickleball Courts A community survey will be conducted to assess the transformation of the existing hockey rink into permanent pickleball courts. Board members were asked to provide questions they would like included in the survey. Administrative Notes Financial Report: The March 2025 financial report was not available for review.
