Meeting Overview The Ebensburg Recreation Board held its monthly meeting on June 10, 2026, at the Ebensburg Borough Office. The meeting was called to order at 6:32 PM by Samantha Kemock and Amber Mesoras. Attendance: Present: Rebecca Williamson, Samantha Kemock, Susan Kuhar, and Amber Mesoras. Absent: Theresa Jacoby, Phil Woo, Ashley Bobby, Rory Coleman, and Melanie Boland. Old Business & Updates The board reviewed updates regarding various facilities and grants: Lake Rowena Grant: Smart Lighting: A quote of $58,000 for a three-year contract was received from Comcast. The Borough Manager and Recreation Director (RD) are investigating other opportunities. Dredging: A bid of $2,698,270 from Coastal Engineering was accepted by the council. The project is scheduled to begin after August 1, 2026. Concession Stand: Bids are due by June 18, 2026, at noon. Plans have been approved. Pavilion Rentals: No rentals will be available after August 1, 2026, due to the dredging project. Pool: An Amler Grant is due in October 2026. The board discussed suggestions for a revised swing set/play area. Tennis Center: The point-of-sale system has been discontinued. The Mindbody platform is developed and awaiting the payment portal to go live. Memorial Ballfields: The McDonald’s Field and First Energy Fields are completed, and the RD has applied for reimbursement. New Business YPCC: Donna Reese is holding structured pickleball lessons for the month of June to teach fundamentals. Pool: Theme days and craft days are being held on Fridays. The "Why Drown" program scheduled for June 11 was cancelled due to weather; a make-up date is to be determined. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 6:51 PM.
