Meeting Overview The Ebensburg Recreation Board held its monthly meeting on July 9, 2025, at the Ebensburg Borough Building. The session was called to order at 6:30 PM by Samantha Kemock and adjourned at 7:15 PM. Attendance: Present: Samantha Kemock, Melanie Boland, Phil Woo, and Rebecca Williamson. Absent: Theresa Jacoby, Rory Coleman, Ashley Bobby, Susan Kuhar, and Amber Mesoras. Operational Updates The board reviewed updates regarding the YPCC, the public pool, and the tennis center. YPCC Roof Repairs: The council approved publishing a bid to repair the YPCC interior roof. Paperwork has been submitted to the borough manager. Hockey Rink Conversion: An online survey regarding the transition of the hockey rink into pickleball courts was approved. It is scheduled to launch on July 14, 2025, and run for two weeks. Pool Mechanical Room: Pumps were repaired following the flooding that occurred on June 17. The pool is currently operational. Infrastructure Damage: Discussions were held with the borough manager and maintenance department regarding damage to trees in the creek behind the pool and a bridge located behind the facility. Preventative Measures: It was recommended to install a sump pump in the mechanical room to prevent future flooding. This was discussed with borough management and maintenance. Tennis Center Fire Alarm System: Gittings began installing a new fire alarm system. The front lobby is set up, but the team is currently waiting on parts to complete the back section of the building. New Business: Memorial Ballfields Security Systems: Gittings partially installed a lock and alarm system on the bathrooms, storage shed, and concession stand. Pending Items: The team is waiting for locks to arrive for the doors. Maintenance Issues: The men's room door requires fixing or replacement as it does not close on its own. Maintenance was notified of this issue. Administrative Minutes: The minutes from the May meeting were reviewed and approved by Samantha Kemock.
