The Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board held its meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2024. The agenda covered updates on facility maintenance, sports leagues, and upcoming community events.
Facility Updates

- Renovation: A bid of $198,750 from Avalotis was accepted by the council. Construction is scheduled to begin on October 7, 2024. Charlie will oversee the project.
- Maintenance: Mold on the ceiling in the ladies' room will be cleaned and removed before the next season opens.
- Supplies: An evaluation is underway to determine the number of new shower curtains needed.
- Equipment: A new laptop is required for the front desk; compatibility with existing software will be checked with InShore.
Memorial Ball Fields
- Grant Funding: A grant application for $42,000 was submitted on September 24, 2024. This funding is intended to redo all three fields, including drainage, crowning, and fixing infield/outfield lips. Notification is expected by mid-November, with distribution in December 2024.
- Maintenance: A plan for field maintenance needs to be established. Tim Golden, a retired BC softball coach, has offered to maintain the fields as a contracted worker (opening/closing, lining, dragging). Council approval is required to hire him. Alternatively, maintenance duties could be assigned to individuals within the borough, EYL, ESL, or BC softball.
