Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Meeting Agenda

Opening Procedures

The agenda outlines the standard opening procedures for the meeting, including a call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, public comments on agenda items, and the approval of minutes from the September 2025 meeting.

Old Business Updates

The board reviewed updates regarding three main facilities:

1. YPCC (Young People's Christian Center)

• Roof Repair: Scheduled for October 28 through November 3.
• Bingo: The next session is scheduled for September 10, 2025.
• Pickleball Tournament: The Ebensburg Pickleball Club is hosting a tournament on October 11 and 12. There are currently 22 teams signed up.
• Halloween Party: Scheduled for October 26th with 8 vendors confirmed.

2. Pool

• Winterization: The pool house, heaters, and pumps have been winterized. Drains in the shallow area were cleaned out.
• Repairs: New bases are being ordered for pipe water features in the shallow end; three out of four are currently broken.
• Amler Grant: The deadline is October 24th. RD has submitted six letters of support.

3. Memorial Ballfields

• Bathroom Door: A new door was ordered for the men’s bathroom and should be installed within one month.
• Grant Status: The grant is still pending. Per Harrisburg, notifications are expected between September and October 2025.
• McDonald’s Field: EYL has offered to absorb the cost of fixing the McDonald’s field if the borough does not receive the grant. A new lease was sent to the borough manager, and RD requested this be added to the council agenda for October.
