Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Agenda (November 13, 2024) Opening & Old Business Pool Project: The project is approximately 75% complete. Painting was paused due to weather conditions and will resume in May. Sprinklers in the shallow end have been painted. Touch-up paint and non-skid material will be applied to stained areas. Nine new lawn chairs were delivered and stored. The pool was winterized on November 4, 2024. Stairs and rails on the large red slide are being replaced due to rust; Mark Ford will handle installation. Memorial Fields: The board is awaiting grant notification. Concerns raised by the Ebensburg Softball League regarding field conditions, bathrooms, and the concession stand will be addressed. A meeting is tentatively scheduled for November 13 at 5:30 PM. Ebensburg Youth League: No report. Events & Facilities Halloween Party: Held on October 27 at the YPCC with over 250 attendees, 14 vendors, and two food trucks. YPCC Expansion: Dr. Woo received a new estimate for the feasibility study. YPCC Updates Equipment: Taylor Morgan is repairing broken equipment but faces difficulty finding parts due to the age of the machines. Upgrades may be considered for the expansion project. Maintenance: Dodson Electric repaired light switches on November 1, though two lights still require full replacement. Staffing: Garrett James was hired as a student worker. Lexi Miller will be cross-trained at the YPCC to cover basketball practice schedules. Upcoming Events: Bingo: November 15. Breakfast with Santa: December 7, 2024. YPCC Basketball League Registration: 17 teams are currently registered. The deadline is November 15. Concessions: Plans are underway to expand the concession stand into the community room. The board is seeking volunteers and student help (via CCHS senior projects) to run the stand on weekends. Referees: Wade Klezek is providing student referees for the K-2 age group. The board is considering purchasing jerseys ($24. 99 each) for these referees. YPCC Room Rentals Rate Discussion: The standard rate is $30/hour. However, some organizations pay $20/hour for long-term or consistent use. The board is asked to decide whether to maintain the $20/hour rate for these specific users or enforce the standard $30/hour rate.
