Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Agenda (June 10, 2026)

Opening Procedures

• Call to order and Pledge of Allegiance.
• Public comments on agenda items.
• Attendees to address the Recreation Board.
• Approval of minutes from the May 2026 meeting.

Old Business Updates

1. Lake Grant

• Lighting and Security: The Borough manager is currently evaluating other options.
• Concession Stand: A request for bid was developed by GFT and posted on May 8, 2026. Bids will be collected on June 18th at noon. Plans for the stand have been approved.
• Playground 1: Designated for ages 5–12 years old.
• Pedestrian Bridge: Listed as an item for discussion.

2. Pool Operations

• Amler Grant: The new deadline is October 2026. Board members suggested improving the play area.
• Events: Theme days and crafts are scheduled for Fridays.
• Safety Program: The "Why Drown" program is set for June 11th.
• Swim Team Contract: A contract was developed with Kickboard Consulting/YPCC Swim Team to utilize the pool after hours during the summer for practice. This contract was approved by the council.

3. Memorial Ballfields

• Status: McDonalds Field and First Energy Fields are completed.
• Reimbursement: RD has submitted the necessary paperwork for reimbursement.

New Business

YPCC (Young People's Christian Center)

• Pickleball: Lessons will be offered both indoor and outdoor.
• Camps: Steam Camp/RV activities are planned.
