Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Meeting Agenda

Opening Procedures

The meeting agenda begins with standard protocols, including the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, and public comments. Attendees are invited to address the board, followed by the approval of minutes from the December 2025 meeting.

Old Business Updates

The board reviewed updates on three primary areas:

1. Lake Grant

• Playgrounds: Plans include a larger playground near the ball field and a smaller one by the "big blue chair. "
• Surfacing: A quote for rubber surfacing has been received.
• Security: Outdoor lighting and security measures are pending action from the borough manager.
• Facilities: Changes have been made to the concession stand and restrooms; the board is awaiting new plans.

2. YPCC (Youth and Public Community Center)

• Equipment: New rowers, spin bikes, and a replacement set of dumbbells for the weight room are to be purchased.
• Programming: Bingo is being considered for a quarterly schedule due to low attendance. The open gym has been expanded to cover school days off and is well-attended.
• Leagues: The winter basketball league is currently underway.
• Safety: Police are conducting security checks between 9:00 PM and 12:00 AM.

3. Pool

• Funding: An Amler grant application is due on March 26, 2026.

New Business

1. Memorial Ballfields

• Reconstruction: The borough received the LSG (Local Small Grant) to reconstruct the ballfields. A competitive bid will be issued to contractors.
• Leases: New leases are required for the Bishop Carroll softball team and the EYL (Ebensburg Youth League) for 2026.
• Pickleball: This topic was added to the agenda.
