Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Meeting Agenda

Date: Wednesday, February 12, 2025

Opening Procedures

The meeting will begin with a call to order and the Pledge of Allegiance. The agenda includes time for public comments on specific items, as well as a general session for attendees to address the board. The minutes from the January 2025 meeting will be presented for approval.

Old Business

• Recreation Board Membership: Amber Mesoras is listed as a new board member.
• Attendance: A discussion point was raised regarding the desire to increase attendance at future meetings.

New Business

1. YPCC (Youth and Public Community Center)

• Equipment: Two new treadmills have been ordered and are expected to arrive in mid-February.
• Maintenance Issues: The roof experienced five water leaks on January 25, 2025. A significant leak occurred on February 6, 2025, requiring a garbage can to catch the water. The board has contacted two roofing companies for evaluations and is awaiting callbacks.
• Bingo: The next Bingo event is scheduled for February 21, 2025. Reservations are filling up quickly; the next available opening is in November 2025.
• Scheduling: The board will discuss suggestions for scheduling programs across the softball fields, pickleball courts, and hockey rink.
• Facilities: Discussion regarding the hockey rink and outdoor pickleball usage.

2. Pool

• Equipment: A new laptop has been ordered through In-Shore. It will be equipped with EZ Facility software and a cash drawer.
• Training: RD has registered for a swim/chemical course scheduled to take place in April.

3. Ballfields

• Funding: Discussion regarding a grant.
• Materials: Review of estimated materials needed for the ballfields.
• Maintenance Support: Discussion on Borough maintenance support for prepping the fields.
• Seasonal Care: Plans for maintaining the fields throughout the season.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Borough building.
