Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Agenda (August 13, 2025) Old Business Updates YPCC (Young People's Christian Center) Roof Repair: A bid proposal has been prepared and will be published in the Tribune Democrat on August 9th and 12th. Hockey Rink: A survey is to be discussed; data is available upon request. Bingo: The next bingo event is scheduled for September 19, 2025. Pool Storm Damage: The borough manager and engineer evaluated creek damage from the June 17th storm/flooding. Cleanup plans are underway. Movie Night: Scheduled for August 15, 2025. Season End: The last day of the season is September 1, 2025. An updated schedule has been posted online. Tennis Center Safety: The new fire alarm system is fully installed. SFU Partnership: Jamie Taylor will discuss the change from D1 to D3 status with SFU and what this means for court time at the tennis center. Memorial Ballfields Security: A security alarm and lock system have been installed on the concession stand door, bathrooms, and shed. The men's room door requires fixing or replacement to close automatically (ongoing). Grant Status: A grant application is pending. Notifications are expected between September and October 2025. New Business YPCC Halloween Party: Scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Volunteers are needed to help plan vendors, trick-or-treat bags, food trucks, and decorations. Gymnasium Closure: The gym will need to be closed for 5–7 days for roof repairs, with dates dependent on bids and scheduling. Memorial Ballfields Field Improvements: EYL and ESA have requested that the remaining two ball fields be crowned with proper drainage added. A meeting regarding these plans occurred on August 7, 2025. The group is currently waiting to see if the grant is awarded.
