Ebensburg Water Treatment Facility Report (October 2022) Submitted by: Inframark Date of Letter: November 22, 2022 Submitted to: Ebensburg Borough Authority Members Executive Summary Production Volume: The plant treated 29,433,000 gallons of reservoir water in October. This averages to 949,452 gallons per day. Water Purchases: An average of 124,066 gallons per day was purchased from Saltlick and blended into the system. This increase is attributed to Nanty Glo purchasing water at the end of the month. Water Quality & Compliance: On October 4th, fourth-quarter disinfection by-product samples were collected. Results exceeded the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL). A public notice was issued on November 9th. Follow-up samples taken on October 27th showed significantly lower by-product levels when additional water was moved through the Ogden tank site. On October 25th, PA DEP representatives collected raw water samples for cyanotoxins. A low detection was found, but it did not exceed the Health Advisory Level for finished water (0. 3 micrograms/Liter). Infrastructure Updates: A new water line was installed into the treatment facility, a recommendation made in 2020. Inframark is currently working on interior plumbing connections. The elevated tank at Hillcrest has been drained for repairs, with work nearing completion. Inframark is coordinating with the public works director to return it to normal operation. Operations & Maintenance Compliance: Monthly Operating Reports (MOR) containing over 20,000 data points were submitted to the PA DEP. Nine bacteriological samples were collected; zero were total coliform positive. Four chlorine level samples were taken, all meeting the minimum requirement of 0. 20mg/L. Plant Operations: Daily production fluctuated between 700,000 and 1,350,000 gallons. Nanty Glo purchased between 360,000 and 576,000 gallons per day. Routine maintenance included daily filter washing, clarifier monitoring, and DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) adjustments. Maintenance & Repair: Staff completed 87 work orders in October, including: Lubricating blowers and pumps. Inspecting ladders, fire extinguishers, and SCBA equipment. Cleaning pH and turbidity meters weekly. Replacing fluorescent light bulbs and an ASCO solenoid on a raw water valve. Sludge Management: The centrifuge was run two times a week, resulting in 9. 075 tons of sludge sent to the landfill.
