Ebensburg Recreation Board Minutes December 10, 2025

Meeting Overview

The Ebensburg Recreation Board held its monthly meeting on December 10, 2025. The session was called to order at 5:30 PM by Samantha Kemock and held at the Pour on Center for a holiday celebration.

Attendance:

• Present: Amber Mesoras, Rebecca Williamson, Samantha Kemock, and Melanie Boland.
• Absent: Theresa Jacoby, Phil Woo, Susan Kuhar, Ashley Bobby, and Rory Coleman.
• Visitors: None.

Administrative Updates

• Minutes: The minutes from August were reviewed and approved by Samantha Kemock.
• Appointments: No new appointments to the board were made.
• Financials: The financial report for October 2025 was marked as N/A.

Old Business

YPCC (Youth and Parent Community Committee)

• The group will continue discussions regarding sponsorships from local businesses.
• The board will revisit the idea of hosting bingo quarterly in 2027.

Lake Rowena Grant

• Playground Equipment: RD consulted with Mark Ford from Miracle Playground equipment. Plans and drawings were created for playground 1 and playground 2. RD is currently awaiting the final quote for surfacing to discuss with the engineer.
• Concession Stand: RD consulted with the engineer regarding recommendations for the concession stand and is awaiting new drawings.
• Security & Lighting: The borough manager is obtaining pricing for outdoor lighting and security for the area surrounding the lake and parking lot.

New Business

YPCC Gym Access

• The board addressed a community concern regarding the lack of open gym time on school holidays due to winter weather. Families requested additional indoor playtime for children.
• Action Taken: The schedule will be adjusted to allow gym access on the following Central Cambria School District days off:
  • December 29
  • January 1–2
  • January 19
  • February 16
  • April 6
• The community will be notified of these schedule adjustments.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 PM, motioned by Amber Mesoras and seconded by Samantha Kemock.
