Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Agenda (May 13, 2026) Opening The meeting agenda includes a call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, public comments, and the approval of minutes from the April 2026 meeting. Old Business Updates Lake Grant: Lighting & Security: The board met with Comcast to confirm costs and the need for a bid. Dredging: A bid of $2,698,270 was received from Coastal Engineering and accepted by the Council. Concession Stand: Plans have been approved, and the request for bid is being developed by GFT. It will be posted on May 8, 2026. Lake Rowena: No pavilion rentals will be allowed after August 1, 2026. YPCC: The Egov credit system is scheduled to be updated. Pool: Amler Grant: The new deadline is October 2026. Board members suggested using the grant to improve the play area. Maintenance: Dead trees in the stream are being removed by a bulldozer. The pool was un-winterized on May 4th by Kirkon Breko. Staffing: Four college students have offered to help clean the pool interior. A mandatory lifeguard meeting is set for May 20th at 6:30 PM. Announcements: 2026 swim lessons and pool passes have been posted at the YPCC and on Facebook. Tennis Center: QuickBooks and POS systems have been discontinued. The Mindbody platform is being built alongside a new app. Outdoor tennis lighting will be installed via the grant. New Business Pool: A contract was developed for Kickboard Consulting/YPCC Swim Team to use the pool after hours during the summer. This contract requires Council approval on May 18th. New liability insurance was provided for Kickboard Consulting. Memorial Ballfields: McDonalds Field and First Energy Fields are completed. RD is currently applying for reimbursement.
