Ebensburg Borough Recreation Board Agenda (March 11, 2026)
Old Business Updates
- Lake Grant: Outdoor lighting and security plans were discussed following a meeting with Comcast. Changes to the concession stand and restrooms have been made, but new plans are still pending. The dredging bid is scheduled for March, and the baseball opening day is set for May 1st.
- YPCC (Youth and Public Community Center): New rowing and spin bikes were delivered and well-received. Police security checks are conducted between 9 PM and 12 AM. The winter basketball league is ending, and the "Brighten the Burg" event is scheduled for April 29th.
- Pool: The Amler grant deadline has been moved to October 2026. Ten deck chairs and sprinkler hardware have been ordered. Non-slip mat suggestions are being collected, and lifeguards must confirm their return by March 15th.
- Memorial Ballfields: The borough received a $42,000 LSG grant for reconstruction. A competitive bid of $108,300 was rejected by council; a new Request for Bids (RFB) has been posted with a deadline of March 17th. Leases for the Bishop Carroll softball team and EYL have been revised for 2026.
New Business
- YPCC: Discussion regarding non-members using the basketball court and potential options.
- Recreation Board Member: A vote is required to renew the term for Ashley Bobby, which expired in January 2026.
