New Police and Borough Staff

New School Resource Officer (SRO): Eric White was hired as a part-time police officer on May 1, 2025. He will serve as the SRO at Holy Name School for the 2025–2026 school year. White has over 25 years of combined law enforcement experience, including service with the U. S. Marine Corps and the Pennsylvania State Police.
New Water Billing Clerk: Tammy Young started in April, taking over from Rose Myers who retired after 15 years. Young is now fully trained in billing, leak detection, and meter installations.

RRFB Installation: Two Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) will be installed at the intersection of West High and Julian Streets. The project cost is $96,471. 18, with a grant of $52,747 covering part of the expense. The beacons are activated by a pushbutton to enhance pedestrian safety.
Stormwater Project: Phase 1 of the stormwater management project is complete. It involved installing over 5,500 feet of pipe and related infrastructure in areas including West Highland Avenue and N. Julian Street.
Police Software Upgrade: The Police Department has upgraded to the In-Synch Report Management System. This new system is FBI NIBRS compliant, allowing officers to file reports from patrol vehicles rather than returning to the office.

Time Capsule Opening: A time capsule buried in 1975 will be opened on Saturday, July 26th at 10 am in Veteran’s Memorial Park during the Homecoming celebration. The capsule contains messages from President Gerald R. Ford and Neil Armstrong, among others.
Ghost Town Trail Additions: New murals created by Central Cambria High School art students and a "Story Walk" reading activity have been added to the trail section near Rowena Drive.
Main Street Accreditation: The Ebensburg Main Street Partnership has earned national accreditation from Main Street America, one of only 21 programs in the state to achieve this status.
Concerts in the Park: A series of concerts will be held at Penn Eben Park from 6–9 PM on the following dates:
- Aug 1: Smooth Sound Band
- Aug 8: Stacy & The Rejects
- Aug 15: John Miller & Company
- Aug 22: From The Top
- Aug 29: KC & The Funshine Band
