Ebensburg Enjoys a Successful 2024

The Borough Council and staff completed several major projects in 2024, including:

  • Water & Sewer: Supported the Municipal Authority in replacing old waterlines and sewer lines on Lovell Avenue and Manor Drive.
  • Compliance: Achieved compliance with the EPA's Lead-Copper Rule by inventoring all waterpipes.
  • Recreation: Completed the first phase of the Borough Swimming Pool renovation and hired a new Recreation Director.
  • Safety: Hired a full-time police officer, purchased a new police cruiser, and secured grants for a rapid flashing beacon.
  • Infrastructure: Installed a thermal barrier at the Tennis Center and purchased the "Municipal Parking Lot" at W. High Street & S. Cherry Street.
  • Beautification: Installed a Historic Ebensburg mural on High Street.

Meet Ebensburg's New Recreation Director

Rebecca Williamson joined the borough team in August as the new recreation director. A registered, licensed dietitian with 14 years of experience at Indiana Regional Medical Center, she is a resident of Ebensburg. Her background includes serving as vice president of the CCHS Golf Boosters and volunteering for the CES PTO.

Ebensburg Welcomes New Businesses

The following new businesses have opened or are opening in Ebensburg:

  • Artistry from Scratch: Located at 129 W. High Street.
  • Brew 22: Located at 139 Manor Drive.
  • NexTep Realty Service LLC: Broker/Owner Doug Tusing, located at 129 W. High Street.
  • Resolute Arms: Located at 3135 New Germany Road, Ebensburg Mini Mall.
  • Replay Pop-Up Consignment LLC: Hosting a Spring & Summer Sale at the American Legion County Fairgrounds from April 24-27, 2025.

Ebensburg Cambria Public Library Programming

The library offers regular programming including:

  • Storytimes: Sprouts (birth-3), Storytime (ages 3-5), and Little Builders (ages 2-5).
  • Clubs: Pick-Up Sticks (Crochet/Knit), Lego Club (ages 6-12), and Book Club.
  • Events: Game Day for Adults and Seniors.
  • Summer Events: SummerQuest, Music on the Patio, and Used Book Sale/Yard Sale during Homecoming.

Recycle Cans Available

The borough has approximately 50 old "toter" cans available for residents at no cost. These can be picked up at the front office of the borough building on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ebensburg Borough Health & Wellness Facility (YPCC)

The YPCC offers fitness memberships, drop-in rates, and various programs:

  • Membership Fees: Adult ($35), Seniors/Student/Military ($30), Family ($60).
  • Specials: Purchase 3 months and get 1 free; 6 months for 2 free; 9 months for 3 free.
  • Rental Programs: Cross-Country Ski & Bike/E-Bike rentals available at Lake Rowena.
  • Pavilion Rentals: Three pavilions at Lake Rowena and two at the Borough Swimming Pool are available for rent ($125. 00 + $25. 00 cleaning deposit).
  • Swimming Pool: Open May 24, 2025. Rates include Walk-in ($7 Adult/$5 Senior/Child), Multi-Visit, and Season Passes.

  • April 26-27: Art in Bloom Spring Art Show at Cambria County Courthouse.
  • May 2: Borough Spring Clean-Up.
  • May 24 (Tentative): Pool Opening Day.
  • May 26: Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
  • June 26: 21st Annual Wheels & Wings in Historic Downtown Ebensburg.
  • July 5-September 20: Farmer’s Market at Penn Eben Park.
  • July 26: Ebensburg Homecoming at Lake Rowena.
  • August 31-September 6: American Legion County Fair.
  • September 27: 34th Annual PotatoFest in Historic Downtown Ebensburg.
  • October 5: Fall Foliage Bike Ride on Ghost Town Trail.
  • October 26: Halloween Parade & Trick-or-Treat.
  • November 27: Ebensburg Turkey Trot.
  • November 29: Small Business Saturday.
  • December 5-7: 20th Annual Dickens of a Christmas in Historic Downtown Ebensburg.
