Meeting Overview

The Ebensburg Municipal Authority is holding its regular monthly meeting on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 4:00 p. m. The meeting will take place at the Borough office located at 300 West High Street, Ebensburg, PA.

Agenda Highlights

Elections and Appointments

The meeting will begin with the election of officers and appointments for key roles:

  • Chairperson: Mr. McMullen currently serves as Chairman.
  • Vice-Chairperson: Mr. Rummel currently serves as Vice-Chairman.
  • Secretary/Treasurer: Ms. Martin-Nagle currently serves in this role.
  • Solicitor: The agenda proposes appointing Calvin (CJ) Webb as Solicitor.
  • Engineer: Stiffler-McGraw Associates currently serves as Engineer.
  • Depository: First National Bank currently serves as Depository.

Consent Agenda

Routine items to be approved by a single motion include:

  • Approval of minutes from the December 18, 2023 meeting.
  • Approval of the Financial Statement for December 2023.
  • Approval of payment of bills.

Engineer Report and Projects (Item 15)

The Engineer will review a report containing specific action items:

  • Phase I Waterline Project: Consideration of an engineering service agreement (Agreement 1) with the following fee adjustments:
    • Permits phase increased from $25,000 to $30,000.
    • Resident project representative fee decreased from $400,000 to $350,000.
    • Survey/easements fee increased from $35,000 to $50,000.
    • Funding expense fee increased from $20,000 to $50,000.
  • Ogden Tank Project: Consideration of further submittal to Pennvest for additional funding for the Ogden Tank Project and Water Treatment Plant Piping Improvements.

General Business

  • Bills: A list of bills totaling $189,489. 76 for January is submitted for approval.
  • Nanty Glo Agreement: Discussion regarding the Nanty Glo Agreement is scheduled.

Reports

  • Inframark: Mike Montgomery will report on Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations, and Luke Byrne will report on Water Treatment Plant Operations.
  • Operations & Maintenance: Josh Surkovich will report on the public works department’s activities for the month.

Public and Media Comments

  • Public Comments: The public is invited to comment on any agenda item.
  • Media Comments: Representatives of the media are invited to ask questions on any issues, whether or not they are on the agenda.
