Ebensburg Municipal Authority Monthly Report (July 2022) Report Date: August 22, 2022 Prepared by: Inframark Water Infrastructure Operations Submitted to: Ebensburg Borough Authority Members Executive Summary During July 2022, the Ebensburg water treatment plant treated 23,570,000 gallons of reservoir water — averaging 760,323 gallons per day . An additional 57,520 gallons per day were purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system. One power outage occurred but was resolved promptly. Quarterly plant shutdown tests were completed successfully. Lead and Copper sampling bottles were distributed to residents for compliance monitoring under the 2022 schedule. Inframark provided complimentary leak detection services; five leaks were found (one repaired), plus one visual leak discovered by a weekend operator on South Center Street. Meetings held with Stiffler McGraw regarding chemical injection permits and raw water valve rebuild. Borough employees assisted with grass maintenance at the facility — appreciated by Inframark. On the Radar (Upcoming Projects): Lagoon pond sludge removal Rebuild raw water valve Cleaning and painting elevated tank (will require temporary operational adjustments to maintain pressure) Service clarifiers Operations & Compliance Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Treated 20. 582 million gallons in July. All NPDES permit requirements met — no violations reported. Effluent quality parameters (CBOD5, TSS, pH, DO, Fecal Coliform) all within limits. Daily average flow: 664,000 gallons; monthly total: 20,582,000 gallons. Sludge hauled to landfill: 9. 557 tons. Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Currently treating 750,000–800,000 gallons/day . Backwash flow rates monitored daily. Filter media inspected daily for irregularities. Online instruments verified multiple times daily. Chemical feed rates adjusted daily to meet demand. Clarifiers monitored for sludge content and settling capability. Lagoons filling — process discussions ongoing. Compliance Reporting Monthly Operating Report (MOR) compiled from ~20,000 data points sent to PA DEP. August MOR due by September 10, 2022. Disinfection by-product samples collected July 5, 2022 — Haloacetic acids (HAA5) exceeded MCL at Sample Site 701. Tier II public notice issued August 5, 2022. Nine bacteriological samples collected in July — zero total coliform positives. Four chlorine residual samples collected — all met minimum 0. 20 mg/L free chlorine requirement. Instrument calibration and comparative grab sampling performed for accuracy. Maintenance & Repair Preventive Maintenance Activities Daily equipment checks and plant rounds. Plant safety inspection completed for the month. Centrifuge run weekly. Grass cut and weeds removed around plant. Control building floors swept/mopped weekly. Mixers pulled from all SBR basins — oil changed and inspected. SBR decanters greased for the month.
