Ebensburg WWTP Monthly Report - February 2024 Report Date: March 25, 2024 Submitted by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager Executive Summary During February 2024, the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant treated a total of 17,318,100 gallons of wastewater. This equates to an average daily flow of 597,176 gallons . All operational and testing requirements were met for the month. Key maintenance activities included: SBR #2 Mixer: A disconnect was installed after staff discovered a burnt-up switch and damaged wires. The mixer is now running well. Grit Blower: The #2 grit blower was removed from operation and is being rebuilt onsite. Process Water Pumps: Repairs were made to the suction side to prevent cavitation, allowing for continuous operation. New Installations: A laundry sink was installed near the process water pumps for cleaning screener baskets, and a new float ball switch replaced an old failing one. Centrifuge: A new pressure sensor was installed on the sludge feed pump, which is now operating three times more efficiently than the old pump. Electrical: Staff repaired a blown fuse on the DO probe SC100 controller with help from Dodson Electric. Emerald Estates: The automatic transfer switch has been installed, with a full startup scheduled for March 14th. Operations & Compliance Testing Schedule: SBR tank testing (Settleability, MLSS, MLVSS) occurs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Influent and effluent compliant testing (TSS, BOD, Phosphorus, Nitrogen, Ammonia, Fecal Coliform) occurs Tuesdays and Thursdays. Effluent pH and Dissolved Oxygen are tested daily. Reporting: All data is entered into WIMS daily for E-DMR monthly reporting. Monthly reports are sent to the DEP electronically by the 28th of each month. Plant Operations: Routine tasks included inspecting pump stations, screening units, and grit removal processes. Sludge was pumped to digesters for thickening, and the centrifuge was operated daily. Maintenance & Repair Inframark staff completed 101 work orders in February. Key tasks included: Greasing decanters on SBR tanks and the screening unit. Replacing a blown fuse on SC100 and installing a new float switch. Installing a pressure sensor on the centrifuge pump line. Replacing four DO probe caps and calibrating them. Installing a grit blower seal kit. Cleaning UV troughs, bulbs, and sensors. Daily hosing of the influent screening unit and weekly greasing of blowers.
