Ebensburg WWTP Monthly Report: January 2026 Date: February 23, 2026 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager for Inframark Executive Summary & Operations During January 2026, the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant treated a total of 25,050,400 gallons of wastewater. Sludge Management: The centrifuge was operated weekly, resulting in 13. 0 tons of dry sludge being sent to the landfill. Equipment Maintenance: Centrifuge: Bearing temperatures rose above normal levels due to grease buildup. The issue was resolved by using a portable air compressor to cool the bearings and remove excess grease. SBR#1 Influent Valve: Staff addressed multiple call-outs regarding the valve struggling to open and close during cold weather. The issue was fixed by wrapping heat tape and insulation around the valve and actuator. Power Outages: The facility experienced a recurring monthly power outage. A data recorder has been installed on the transformer to investigate, and Cummins will be onsite in February to inspect the generator transfer switch. Lift Stations: All three lift stations were inspected regularly. No leaks were found, and all floats/transducers are functioning correctly. Compliance & Plant Operations All samples collected in January were in compliance with regulations. Testing Schedule: Effluent pH, alkalinity, and dissolved oxygen are analyzed daily. SBR tank testing (Settleability and MLSS) occurs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Influent and effluent compliant testing (TSS, BOD, Phosphorus, Nitrogen, etc. ) is completed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Routine Tasks: Daily inspections included screening units, grit removal, UV operational checks, and influent/effluent samplers. Maintenance & Repair Inframark staff completed 51 work orders in January. Key activities included: Greasing decanters on SBR tanks and the centrifuge. Cleaning the Trojan UV channel, wet well pump floats, and digester weirs/troughs. Adjusting the centrifuge auto greaser and grit blower belt tension. Performing monthly safety inspections and cleaning control building floors.
