Ebensburg WWTP Monthly Report: September 2024 Report Date: October 28, 2024 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager (Inframark) Executive Summary & Operations During September 2024, the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant treated a total of 13,752,100 gallons of wastewater (averaging 458,400 gallons per day). Sludge Management: The centrifuge was operated twice, resulting in 5. 98 tons of dry sludge sent to the landfill. Additionally, the plant received 215,700 gallons of hauled-in sludge from the Somerset Co. Water System, which is currently being processed in drying beds. Equipment Issues: Staff faced significant challenges operating the centrifuge due to a clogged sludge feed line and a hose blowout on September 11th. After several failed attempts and coordination with Centrisys, the clog was removed, and operations were restored. Water Supply: The facility continues to battle air in its well water supply, as there is no connection to city water. A small leak on the well line was repaired, but the air issue persists; a well company may need to inspect the pump. Upcoming Maintenance: Dodson Electric has ordered two new unit heaters with an estimated arrival date of November 7th. Maintenance & Repairs Inframark staff completed 78 work orders in September. Key activities included: Greasing decanters on SBR tanks and the screening unit. Repairing the centrifuge feed line and sludge feed line check valves. Installing isolation valves on the process water line for centrifuge flushing. Cleaning wet well pump floats and the UV basin. Inspecting stormwater basins and State School weir boxes. Performing monthly safety inspections and cleaning control building floors. Financial Update Maintenance Expenditures: Tractor Supply: $55. 10 (Blower room exhaust fan belts) All American Fire Equipment: $42. 40 (Centrifuge line repairs) USA Blue Book: $9. 72 (Effluent sampler dipper) Budget Caps: Maintenance Cap: Contract total is $25,000/year. With $107. 22 spent this month, the remaining balance is $1,863. 97. Sludge Cap: Contract total is $80,000/year. With $10,658. 12 spent this month, the remaining balance is $11,115. 83. Health & Safety There were no accidents in September. Personnel have worked 1,704 days (4 years and 9 months) without an accident or injury. Training included weekly tailgate meetings and procedures for handling hauled-in sludge.
