Ebensburg WWTP Monthly Report (December 2024) Submitted by: Inframark Water Infrastructure Operations To: Ebensburg Borough Authority Members Date of Report Submission: January 27, 2024 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager Executive Summary The plant treated 23. 95 million gallons of wastewater in December — averaging 772,800 gallons per day. Centrifuge operated weekly; 7. 3 tons of dry sludge sent to landfill. #2 wet well pump returned from repair and is now installed and functioning. New explosion-proof heaters installed in head works building with Dodson Electric (old heaters removed, new ones set with winches, wired, and epoxy-sealed). Case equipment representative inspected 1995 case loader for sludge dumpster movement; identified hydraulic leak due to drop box transmission, leaking hoses, and bad wheel cylinders. Borough will receive a repair quote. A cheaper Bell & Gossett circulating pump (1/3 cost) ordered for boiler replacement; small plumbing project needed upon delivery. Sewer lift stations inspected regularly: runtime documented, generators exercised, basket screeners cleaned, snow plowing performed at all three stations. Block heater on generator at Industrial Park pumping station failing to maintain temperature — new heater ordered and pending installation. SBR tank testing (Settleability, MLSS): Mon/Wed/Fri on all four units. Influent/effluent compliance testing (TSS, BOD, CBOD, Phosphorus, Nitrogen, Ammonia, Fecal Coliform): Tues/Thurs. UV intensity recorded; composite samples collected daily. All data entered into WIMS for E-DMR monthly reporting. Monthly reports submitted electronically to DEP by 28th of each month. Stormwater inspections conducted. Plant Operations Highlights: Inspected Industrial Park and Emerald Estates pump stations. Daily screening unit cleanouts; grit removal optimization. Sludge pumped to digesters for thickening; decanted to allow more thickening. Centrifuge operations, polymer feed system optimized. Floating debris removed from SBR tanks; aeration cycles adjusted for sludge optimization. UV operational checks completed daily. Maintenance & Repair Inframark staff completed 111 work orders in December. Key activities included: Greased decanters on SBR tanks, screening unit, skid steer, centrifuge. Cleaned influent screening unit daily; cleaned sludge pump access hatches, wet well floats, UV basin. Installed #2 wet well pump and new heaters in head works building. Fixed broken spring on head works garage door. Cleaned bypass channel, digester weirs/troughs (#3 and #4). Completed monthly safety inspections; checked oil/belts on blowers daily, greased weekly. Hosed centrifuge building floor; swept/mopped control building floors weekly. Snow removal and salting walkways performed.
