Ebensburg WWTP Monthly Report - March 2023

Executive Summary

During March 2023, the Ebensburg wastewater treatment plant treated 22. 365 million gallons of clean water discharged to Howells Run — averaging . 721 million gallons per day. All operational and testing requirements were met.

  • Sludge sent to landfill: 8. 585 tons
  • Centrifuge operation: Ran as needed throughout the month

On the Radar

  • Influent valve replacement project scheduled to begin April 24, 2023, handled by Hickes contractor.
  • All 4 replacement valves are already on site.

Operations & Compliance

Testing Schedule:

  • SBR tank testing (for process control): Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
  • Influent/effluent compliance testing (for DEP reporting): Tuesdays, Thursdays
  • All data entered daily into computer system for monthly reporting
  • Monthly reports submitted electronically to DEP by the 28th of each month

Plant Operations:

  • Daily plant rounds and equipment checks performed multiple times per shift
  • Centrifuge operated as needed
  • Influent screening unit hosed and cleaned daily
  • All work orders completed for the month

Maintenance & Repair:

  • Greased decanters on SBR tanks
  • Monthly safety inspection completed
  • Centrifuge building floor hosed/cleaned as needed
  • Control building floors swept and mopped weekly
  • Grass/weeding started around plant grounds for the season
  • Replaced polymer pump on centrifuge (old unit shut off unexpectedly)
