Purchased Water: An average of 231,822 gallons per day were purchased from Saltlick and blended into the system. This volume is higher than normal because Nanty Glo is buying water from Ebensburg. Nanty Glo Interconnect: Nanty Glo shut off their emergency interconnect on July 2nd. They reopened it on July 20th requesting 300 GPM due to a filter failure. Staff have been operating the WTP at full permit capacity to meet demand. Nanty Glo has exceeded the 15-day purchase limit for an emergency interconnect. Reservoir Level: The upper reservoir water level is at -2 ft. Maintenance & Repairs Inframark staff completed 56 work orders in July. On July 3rd, the raw water valve was not functioning properly due to a faulty 4-20 mA feedback instrument. A new device was installed and is working correctly. #2 pump at Saltlick tripped on low voltage but has since operated properly. Routine Maintenance: Fire extinguisher and ladder inspections. Sump pumps exercised. DAF Air saturation adjustments and sump level sensor verifications. Lagoon motor pull, vault cleaning, and float adjustments. Greasing of clarifier drives, finished water pumps/motors, and all pump station motors. Cleaning of clarifier troughs, pH/turbidity meters, and the facility. Jar testing to optimize chemical usage. Compliance & Safety Inspections: PA DEP performed their annual water supply inspection on July 22-23. The inspector rated the facility as one of the best operated they inspect. Sampling: Bacteriological: 9 samples collected; zero total coliform positives. Chlorine: 5 samples collected (one per week); all met the minimum requirement of 0. 20mg/L free chlorine. PFAS: Third quarter UCMR5 samples collected with no detects. Safety Record: No accidents occurred in July. Personnel have worked 2,008 days (5 years, 7 months) without an accident or injury.
