Ebensburg Municipal Authority — June 2024 WTP Monthly Report Summary Report Date: July 22, 2024 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager, Inframark Water Infrastructure Operations Submitted to: Ebensburg Borough Authority Members 📊 Water Production & Supply Total treated water in June: 36,431,000 gallons Daily average production: 1,214,367 gallons/day Increase vs. historical June average: +301,734 gallons/day Water purchased from Saltlick: 90,043 gallons/day (higher than normal due to water loss and contractor flushing for a water line project) ⚙️ Maintenance & Troubleshooting Highlights Lagoon Pond Pump #2 Recurring issue: pump became air-locked after running. Root cause: leaking flange seal allowed air into the pump. Fix: staff pulled pump, cleaned flange face to restore tight seal. Status: running well since repair. Low Chlorine Alarm (June 15) Cause: flow to chlorine analyzer clogged → inaccurate readings. Fix: flushed supply lines + acid-cleaned analyzer optical eye. Hillcrest Tank Site Alarm (June 23) Issue: low elevated tank alarm triggered. Found: motor starter contactor for pump #2 burnt up; wires also burnt off lugs. Plan: new VFD scheduled for installation in July to replace old motor contactors. Generator Voltage Alarm (Hillcrest) High AC voltage alarm detected on generator same night as pump #2 failure. No further action noted beyond detection. Ogden Tank & Chlorine System Boosted chlorine residual at Ogden tank. Installed and connected chemical feed pump to injection lines historically used by Borough staff. Inspected Ogden tank for leaks — none found. Saltlick Pump Station Cooling fan adjusted to 80 degrees. All pump station pumps/motors greased during the month. Swimming Pool Chlorine Feed System Inframark provided parts and assistance to Borough pool staff to repair suction line. 🧪 Regulatory & Inspection Updates Pennsylvania DEP Filter Plant Performance Evaluation: Conducted May 23–24. Exit meeting to be scheduled next month to review final inspection results. Inframark working with Stiffler McGraw to address permit needs discovered during inspection. 💧 Water Loss & System Adjustments Inframark notified Ebensburg’s Public Works Director on May 20 of a 100 GPM increase in the low system. Contractor assigned to repair water loss — no decrease observed yet. 👥 Personnel & Safety Accident-free record: 1,612 days (4 years, 6 months) without injury or accident as of May.
