Ebensburg Municipal Authority: February 2025 WTP Monthly Report Date: March 24, 2025 Submitted by: Luke Byrne, Inframark Executive Summary & Operations Water Production: The plant treated 35,991,000 gallons in February (avg. 1,285,393 gallons/day). This is an increase of 133,083 gallons per day compared to the same time last year. Purchased Water: An average of 187,910 gallons per day were purchased from Saltlick to blend into the system due to excessive water loss. Maintenance Issues: A leak near the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) was discovered on February 6th. Borough crews tightened a leaking clamp, but a nearby valve is also leaking and may require a complete replacement. Staff repaired the raw water valve's 4-20mA feedback loop by installing a new potentiometer. The Caustic bulk chemical tank was cleaned out to resolve clogged feed lines. Awards: The plant was selected again for the prestigious Aera Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) Award. Operators Kyle Smiley and Anthony Perott will accept the award on March 24th. Water Quality: UCMR5 sampling for PFAS and Lithium was conducted on January 22 with no detectable results. Reservoir Levels: The upper reservoir level is at -6 ft, an increase of 2 ft from the previous month due to precipitation and snow melt. Compliance: Monthly Operating Report (MOR) submitted to PA DEP. Nine bacteriological samples were collected; zero were total coliform positive. Four chlorine samples were collected, all meeting the minimum requirement of 0. 20mg/L. A study on historical water loss was submitted to PA DEP on 12-20-22; awaiting response. Maintenance & Repair Inframark staff completed 72 work orders in February, including: Fire extinguisher and ladder inspections. Sump pump exercises. Caustic tank clean out. Raw water valve repairs. DAF lightning mixer oil level inspections. DAF air saturation adjustments and lagoon vault cleaning. Grease clarifier drives and cleaned troughs. Chlorine room alarm test. Greased finished water pumps/motors. Weekly cleaning of pH and turbidity meters. Jar testing for chemical optimization. Snow removal and salting walkways. Financial Update Maintenance Expenditures: Water service professionals: $2,618. 63 (DAF/cleaner) VAG USA LLC: $582. 67 (Raw water valve rebuild kit) Voltronics INC. : $553. 67 (1 K potentiometer) Tractor Supply: $171. 36 (Caustic tank clean out) Ace Hardware: $32. 46 (Raw water valve wiring) Caps for WTP: Maintenance Cap: Contract total is $25,950. 84. With $3,958. 79 spent this month, the remaining balance is $21,633. 32. Chemical Cap: Contract total is $93,423. 12. With $5,904. 45 spent this month, the remaining balance is $76,743. 67. Health & Safety There were no accidents in January. Personnel have worked 1,855 days (5 years, 2 months) without an accident or injury. Training included weekly tailgate meetings, slips/trips/falls prevention, and UCMR data review.
