Ebensburg Municipal Authority: September 2025 WTP Monthly Report Date: October 27, 2025 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Project Manager (Inframark) Executive Summary & Operations During September 2025, the Ebensburg water treatment plant treated a total of 32,972,000 gallons of reservoir water. This averages to approximately 1,099,067 gallons per day. Water Purchases: An average of 122,270 gallons per day was purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system. This volume is higher than normal due to Nanty Glo purchasing water from Ebensburg. Nanty Glo Interconnect: The interconnect with Nanty Glo was shut off on September 4th and remained off until September 16th. Nanty Glo purchased water on September 16th–17th specifically to perform filter media cleaning. Boil Water Advisory (BWA): On September 10th, Inframark provided a licensed distribution operator and assisted with relocating a fire hydrant. A Boil Water Advisory was issued, and the PA DEP was notified. After collecting two rounds of bacteriological samples over two days, approval was granted to lift the advisory. Power Outage: A scheduled power outage occurred on September 15th at 12:00 AM. Service was only interrupted at the Hillcrest tank site. Staff successfully filled the tank to avoid service interruptions, and generator/pump inspections revealed no issues. Equipment Updates: A new lagoon wet well pump was installed to replace a failing unit discovered in July. The upper reservoir water level is currently six feet below full pool level. Maintenance & Repair Inframark staff completed 75 work orders in September. Key activities included: Inspections: Fire extinguishers, ladders, backwash tank exterior, eye wash/safety showers, and clarifier drives. Pump & Motor Work: Sump pumps exercised, lagoon pump installed, finished water pumps/motors greased, and alternated finished water pumps. System Adjustments: DAF air saturation adjustments, stream flow monitor maintenance, and lagoon vault cleaning/float adjustments. Cleaning & Calibration: Clarifier troughs cleaned, pH and turbidity meters cleaned weekly, and facility cleaned. Testing: Jar testing was conducted to optimize chemical usage, manganese levels, and reservoir turnover. DAF sump level sensor verifications were performed. Financial Update Maintenance Expenditures: Water Service Professionals: $2,860 (Annual filter/media analysis inspection) Integrity HDR: $397. 50 (Crane inspection) Custom Controls Unlimited: $112. 50 (SCADA turbidity scaling) The Home Depot: $33. 15 (Electrical conduit) Ace Hardware: $27. 97 (Reservoir gate chain/lock/hardware/batteries) Contract Caps Status: Maintenance Cap: Total annual contract is $25,950. 84. Previous balance was $10,372. 46. Total spent this month was $3,431. 12, leaving a remaining balance of $6,941. 34. Chemical Cap: Total annual contract is $93,423. 12. Previous balance was $0. Total spent this month was $11,908. 40, leaving a remaining balance of $0. Health & Safety There were no accidents in September. Personnel have worked 2,069 days (5 years and 9 months) without an accident or injury. Training: Weekly tailgate meetings were held, focusing on PPE (gloves, glasses, boots) and chlorine room safety.
