Ebensburg Municipal Authority: March 2023 WTP Monthly Report Date: April 24, 2023 Prepared by: Luke Byrne, Inframark Water Infrastructure Operations Executive Summary & Plant Performance Inframark submitted the March 2023 monthly report for the Ebensburg water treatment plant (WTP). Key operational highlights include: Production Volume: The plant treated 27,760,000 gallons of reservoir water in March. This averages to 895,484 gallons per day, representing a reduction of roughly 108,322 gallons per day compared to March 2022. Bulk Water Sales: Nanty Glo purchased water for 2. 5 days during the month. Purchased Water: An average of 64,873 gallons per day was purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system. Metering Issue: A meter used for bulk water purchases with Nanty Glo was found to have only six active digits, causing it to reset to zero. A meter specialist and the public works director activated all 10 digits to allow proper registration of millions of gallons. Equipment Repair: The caustic chemical feed pump was replaced after hours due to failure. The failed unit has been rebuilt and placed on standby. Wastewater Assistance: Inframark assisted Borough staff with call-out issues at Industrial Park wastewater lift stations by programming the dialer with current staff phone numbers. Compliance & Reporting: Conducted the PA DEP required second-quarter filter evaluation on Filter #1, which was found to be in excellent condition. Completed and submitted 2022 Chapter 110 reports to PA DEP. Submitted 2022 consumer confidence data to consecutive bulk water customers. Operations & Maintenance Plant Operations: Daily production fluctuated between 782,000 and 1,126,000 gallons. Filters are washed every 72 hours (twice per week). Clarifiers, flows, and chemical feed rates are monitored and adjusted daily. Maintenance & Repair: Inframark staff completed 84 work orders in March, including: Ladder, fire extinguisher, and SCBA inspections. Greasing DAF recycle pumps, scrapers, clarifier drives, and finished water pumps/motors. Exercising sump pumps. Cleaning clarifier troughs, pH/turbidity meters, and the lagoon vault. Testing chlorine room alarms. Unclogging DAF drain lines and verifying sump level sensors. Repairing the caustic pump and lubricating DAF scrapper chains. Financial Update Maintenance Expenditures: Specific vendor expenses for the month included: Long Barn: $125. 82 (DAF sprayer PVC plumbing) Custom Controls: $155. 00 (SCADA Saltlick issues) Home Depot: $144. 97 (Electrical, sump discharge hose, extension cord) Wal-Mart: $82. 61 (Saltlick data switch for communication) Maintenance Cap Status: Contract Total per Year: $26,522. 00 Previous Balance: $26,453. 36 Total Spent This Month: $508. 40 Remaining Balance: $25,944. 96 Health & Safety There were no accidents in March.
