Ebensburg Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Report - July 2023 Submitted by: Inframark Water Infrastructure Operations Date of Report: July 28, 2023 Executive Summary Volume Treated: The plant treated a total of 16,044,800 gallons of wastewater in July. Daily Average: This equates to an average of 510,000 gallons per day. Compliance: All testing and operational requirements were met for the month. Sludge Disposal: 8. 949 tons of sludge were sent to the landfill via centrifuge operation. Operations & Maintenance Testing Schedule: SBR tank testing for process control occurs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Influent/effluent compliant testing for DEP reporting occurs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All data is entered into WIMS daily for E-DMR monthly reporting. Plant Rounds: Daily equipment checks were performed twice per shift. Equipment Status: Screening units, U. V. units, and influent/effluent samplers were operating properly with no blockages. Maintenance Tasks: Blowers were checked for oil and belts daily. The centrifuge was run weekly. Influent screening units were hosed and cleaned daily. Floors in the influent building, centrifuge building, and sludge dumpster area were swept and hosed. U. V. troughs, bulbs, and sensors were cleaned twice during the month. Repairs: Three SBR mixers were sent out for repair. Financial Update Work Orders: 341 work orders were completed for the month. Daily Average: This equates to an average of 860,323 gallons per day. Production Increase: July 2023 production shows an increase of 100,000 gallons per day compared to July 2022. Purchased Water: An average of 57,247 gallons per day was purchased from Saltlick and blended into the distribution system. Key Events & Operations July 5th: Disinfection by-product samples were collected. Results were under half the maximum contaminant level for HAA5’s, allowing compliance without a public notice. July 7th: Inframark began operating the Ogden tank chlorine booster station. July 12th: A tour was hosted for Saint Francis University’s water reclamation academy, led by Professor Mr. Tasker and his students. July 13th: The Emerald estates pumping station was found in alarm and failing to pump. Borough staff helped fix the motor issues and restore the dialer for call-outs. July 26th: PA DEP collected raw water samples for cyanotoxins; there were no detects. Inspections: Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company conducted annual boiler inspections; both passed. Kaza Fire Equipment performed annual inspections and renewed four fire extinguishers at the WTP. Flow Requirements: The downstream by-pass flow valve was operated to meet the instream flow requirement of 270,000 GPD. Operations & Maintenance Production Range: Plant production fluctuated between 776,000 and 920,000 gallons/day. Filter Maintenance: Filters are washed every 144 hours (once per week). Monitoring: Clarifiers, chemical feed rates, and overnight flows were monitored daily. Work Orders: Inframark staff completed 94 work orders in July. Greased DAF recycle pump and scraper. Inspected fire extinguishers, SCBA gear, ladders, and boiler jackets. Repaired Ogden tank chlorine feed line and rebuilt LMI pump. Cleaned clarifier troughs and pH/turbidity meters weekly. Monitored filter bed expansion.
