Ebensburg Municipal Authority: March 2022 Monthly Report Report Date: April 25, 2022 Facility: Ebensburg Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Operations Summary The water treatment plant operated continuously throughout March 2022. Key operational statistics include: Total Production: 31,118,000 gallons of water. Plant Hours: 744 hours of operation. Supplemental Supply: The Saltlick pump station provided an additional 2,192,655 gallons. Compliance: All routine monthly compliance samples were collected and all state reports were submitted. There were no permit violations for the month. Maintenance & Repair Inframark staff completed 45 work orders during March. Preventive maintenance tasks included: Calibration of all online compliance analyzers and lab instruments. Weekly verification of turbidity measurements against bench-top analyzers. Adjustment of flows and chemical feed rates based on system demand. SCADA updates for daylight savings time. Backwash tank inspection and debris removal from the lower reservoir spillway. Exercise of sump pumps and chlorine room alarm tests. Greasing finished water pumps/motors and alternating pump usage weekly. Jar testing to optimize chemical usage. Weekly cleaning of pH and turbidity meters. With $1,798. 02 spent this month, the remaining balance is $23,368. 09. Noteworthy Events March 3: Staff replaced a failing chemical feed pump used for pH adjustment. March 10: A water leak on the low system caused high demand in the distribution system. Plant production was increased to 1. 14 MGD, and Saltlick supplemented additional water. March 16: The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry inspected one of the WTP boilers, which passed inspection. March 17: The first quarter filter bed evaluation on filter #2 was completed; the filter was found to be in excellent condition meeting all design specs. March 21: Inframark assisted the borough crew with a water leak repair on Lovell Avenue. The Ogden pump station was operated to maintain flows to customers in the township during the repair. March 24: The AWOP award was presented to EMA at the Pennsylvania Rural Water Association (PRWA) Annual Conference in State College, PA. Luke Byrne accepted the award on behalf of EMA. Health & Safety There were no accidents in March. Personnel have worked 790 days without an accident or injury. Weekly tailgate meetings, COVID-19 updates, Personal Protective Equipment training, and Hazard communication/GHS topics were covered in Inframark training sessions.
